Terms of Service (TOS)

These terms govern the institutional relationship between students, partners, and the Global Hotel Management School (GHMS) ecosystem.

1. Introduction

The Global Hotel Management School (“GHMS”, “we”, “our”, or “the School”) provides access to online hospitality education, mentorship, internship pathways, digital resources, events, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By enrolling in GHMS, using our website, online learning platform, or participating in any GHMS program (the “Platform”), you agree to comply with these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform or Services.

2. Legal Status

GHMS is operated by The Global Hotel Management School, an Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporation, registered under the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

GHMS operates on a non-profit basis with a mission to provide access to international hospitality education based on Swiss hospitality standards.

3. Eligibility

To participate in GHMS programs, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (or provide parental consent if below your local legal age).
  • Provide accurate personal information during registration.
  • Agree to abide by GHMS academic, conduct, and privacy policies.

GHMS may request identification verification at any time for security or certification purposes.

4. Educational Services

GHMS provides:

  • Online hospitality learning content
  • Live and on-demand classes
  • Mentoring sessions
  • Career preparation and internship guidance
  • Digital certifications or diplomas upon program completion

GHMS reserves the right to modify curriculum content, instructors, delivery methods, or schedules to improve quality or comply with regulations.

5. Non-Commercial Use

All GHMS content, including videos, documents, assignments, and materials, is for personal educational use only. Copying, selling, redistributing, or publishing GHMS materials without written consent is strictly prohibited.

6. Student Responsibilities

Students must:

  • Maintain academic integrity and complete their own work.
  • Adhere to the GHMS Code of Conduct and Anti-Harassment Policy.
  • Respect mentors, staff, and fellow students.
  • Maintain reliable internet access and technology to participate.

Violation may result in suspension or termination of access without refund (where applicable).

7. Mentors & Volunteers

Mentors and educators supporting GHMS may do so on a volunteer or paid basis. Mentors do not provide immigration advice, legal advice, employment contracts, or guaranteed job placement.

8. Certifications & Internship Placement

Completion of a GHMS program does not guarantee immediate employment or immigration eligibility. Certification is provided based on academic performance, attendance, conduct, and assessment results.

Internships depend on:

  • Student eligibility and visa status
  • Availability with partner hotels
  • Passing interviews and assessments

9. Payments, Donations & Fees

Some services (e.g., optional certifications, accelerated career services, events, exams) may be offered for a fee. Donations and sponsorships support student training and scholarships. All transactions are processed securely through approved payment providers.

Any applicable Refund & Cancellation Policy forms part of these Terms.

10. Privacy & Data Protection

GHMS complies with PIPEDA (Canada) and, where applicable, GDPR for international users. Personal data is processed according to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Intellectual Property

All GHMS logos, branding, curriculum, videos, documents, and Platform content remain the exclusive property of GHMS or its licensors. Unauthorized copying, distribution, or reproduction is prohibited.

Students grant GHMS a limited right to use anonymized academic results and testimonials for educational, operational, or promotional purposes.

12. Limitation of Liability

GHMS provides services “as is” without warranty of uninterrupted access or job outcome. GHMS is not liable for:

  • Loss of income or employment opportunities
  • Visa or immigration outcomes
  • Technical failures or Platform availability
  • Decisions made by partner hotels or employers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GHMS’ total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the student (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

Students may discontinue participation at any time. GHMS may suspend or terminate access due to:

  • Misconduct or academic violation
  • Misuse of Platform content
  • Fraudulent enrolment or identity information

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario.

15. Updates to Terms

GHMS may update these Terms to improve educational standards or comply with regulations. Continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance.
